Wrinkle Relaxing Injections
Botox (Botulinum toxin) is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum which causes temporary paralysis to the normal contraction of muscles. It is used in clinic to treat wrinkles on the face by preventing contraction of the underlying muscles.
Botox® is a prescription only medicine (POM) and therefore can only be prescribed by doctors, dentists and nurses who hold a prescribing qualification. A face to face consultation is required with Vicky, our nurse prescriber prior to your treatment.
Treatment time: 15-30 mins
A follow up appointment is required at 2 weeks as additional treatment may be required (included in original cost)

Juvéderm Dermal Fillers
Juvederm Dermal fillers enable the nurse practitioner to smooth wrinkles and restore the volume in the skin for a more youthful look by replenishing the lost volume. The filler has a numbing agent, Lidocaine, within the product making the treatment more comfortable. We also offer a topical numbing agent to make the experience even more comfortable. Depending on the treatment area and the product used, results can last up to 18 months.
Areas Treated
Cheeks – A volumised and hydrated look designed to minimise the appearance of sagging and drooping skin. This treatment can help give your cheeks a lift while addressing any hollowing or wrinkle formation that has occurred.
Nasolabial Fold (nose to mouth lines) – Dermal Fillers containing hyaluronic acid are a very effective product for this area. Careful injections are made into the creases between the nose and mouth, instantly revolumising and plumping the skin giving a more youthful appearance.
Lips – Lip filler treatment is suitable for anyone who would like fuller lips. A safe and efficient treatment can replace volume and definition that the ageing process has taken away.
Marrionette lines (lines from mouth to chin) – Dermal fillers can be very effective at treating wrinkles to the marrionette area which can cause the mouth to look downturned and unhappy.
Chin – Chin filler can enhance the overall appearance of the chin area. An excellent way to shape a more satisfactory profile.
Jawline – Achieve a more defined or angular jawline, or lift loose, sagging skin. Jawline filler is recommended for anti-aging and facial rejuvenation by helping to sculpt, tighten and lift the area.

HArmonyCA Hybrid Dermal Filler
HArmonyCA is a new revolutionary hybrid injectable filler that not only provides an immediate volumising effect but also stimulates collagen long after treatment. This can tighten and lift the cheek area and jawline for up to 24 months.
This hybrid injectable combines two powerful ingredients:
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHa). HA instantly fills wrinkles, while CaHa stimulates the skins natural collagen over time. HArmonyCA is specifically used for the lower lateral face only and cannot be injected into lip area or neck.
HArmonyCA is injected into each side of the lower face in a 30 minute appointment. The volume you see immediately will stay, however over 12 months you will see a gradual, continued improvement in the appearance of your skin due to collagen stimulation.
Profhilo Skin Boosters
Profhilo skin booster is a very popular non-surgical treatment made from a pure form of hyaluronic acid injected into the upper skin layers. Results from this treatment are very impressive! It noticeably stimulates elastin to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin. Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. Suitable for men and women as well as offering benefits for patients of all ages. An initial course of 2 treatments is required 4-6 weeks apart, followed by 1 maintenence treatment 3-4 monthly.

FAQ's
With the passage of time, strong contraction of the muscles underneath the skin of the face (muscles of facial expression) causes the overlying skin to wrinkle. Patients are unhappy with an appearance of constant frowning or tiredness. They are also concerned about the deep creases in the forehead, between the eyebrows and lines around the eyes (crowsfeet).
Patients who are pregnant / breast feeding or who are on blood thinning medications such as warfarin or aspirin or suffer from myasthenia gravis should not have Botox.
Botox injections are administered as an outpatient procedure. The nurse marks the areas to be injected. Botox is injected with a very fine needle in carefully regulated doses into the muscles that are responsible for the formation of creases and wrinkles.
The areas that have been injected can be slightly bruised or swollen. The swelling and bruising usually resolves within a week. The effect of the Botox is not visible until one to three weeks after the injection and lasts for approximately four to five months. Patients who want a sustained effect need to have a repeat injection when the effect of Botox wears off.
Most patients are able to return to work within a day. On occasions, there may be some significant swelling or bruising at the site of injection. This may affect your ability to meet with clients or to attend important social occasions.
Very rarely patients can have an allergic reaction to Botox or the effect of Botox maybe visible in a wider area than intended. This can result in an exaggerated result with relative immobility of the forehead or slight drooping of the brow or of the upper eyelid. However this effect is completely reversible within some weeks of the injection.
Hyaluronic Acid based dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, can be quickly dissolved using an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. this acts to disperse hyaluronic acid, speeding up the natural breakdown of the filler. PLEASE NOTE: The use of hyaluronidase to remove hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers is off-licence, so your nurse practitioner will only do so if it is in the best interest of the patient on the basis of available evidence.
Immediately after treatment it is expected to experience slight redness, swelling and tenderness to the area. These side-effects are normal and tend to subside with-in one week. On some occasions patients may also bruise, however these symptoms will gradually disappear over 1-2 weeks.
Treatments of Wrinkles
Patients regard wrinkles as sign of ageing and are unhappy with the appearance of the forehead, the area around the eyes and the mouth / jawline.
Depending upon the cause and depth of the wrinkles they can be treated by a variety of procedures such as injection of botulinum toxin, the use of Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers or skin boosters such as Profhilo or HArmonyCA Hybrid dermal filler. Prescription strength chemical peels are also a very good treatment to rejuvenate the skin and smooth wrinkles.
